As a leader in the community, Karen has chaired the Spalding County Zoning Board and served as Chairman of the Spalding County GOP. Additionally, she has served on the Spalding County Adoption Association and Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is a past member of DFCS Executive Board. Karen and her husband, Marty are members of the Open Range Church in Griffin.
Dr. Karen Mathiak is currently serving as a State Representative in the Georgia House representing GA District 73. She was first elected in 2016. Dr. Mathiak also serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chiropractic Association.
Born and raised in Schuyler, Nebraska, Sen. Hansen graduated from Schuyler Central High School and went to Platte Community College in Columbus, NE for two years. After that, he went to Wayne State College in Wayne, NE and earned his bachelor’s degree. Soon afterwards he moved to Davenport, IA and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude and on the President’s List. Afterward he moved back home to Blair, Nebraska where he owns a multi-doctor clinic in Blair and Omaha, Nebraska. He also owns Blair Rent-It Center and Heritage Barnwood Company in Blair.
In 2018 he was elected to the Nebraska State Legislature. Currently he is the Chair of the Business and Labor Committee.
He has a wife Jill, and 4-year-old daughter Olivia.
Valerie Smith, M.A., CAE has been working with the Georgia Chiropractic Association since 2007, first as a marketing consultant, then full time starting in 2010 as Director of Membership and Communications. She became executive director in 2015.
A lifelong political and public service activist, Jack Hebert is the founder and principal of The Mallard Group., Inc. He has extensive experience in local, state and national politics. For over two decades, Jack has partnered with the Florida Chiropractic Association, assisting in state executive and legislative branch lobbying, issue research, member education and programming development.
Some call it ‘attention to detail.’ Others call it ‘OCD.’ Either way, when working with John Lindley, you are guaranteed not to lose track of any details. John’s focus on implementing the particulars is complimented by a refined ability to think and plan globally through sound strategy development – creating a productive balance for client success time and time again.
John honed his skills and developed his auditor-type approach through a successful tenure of nearly 12 years as head of government and regulatory affairs for the Michigan Association of CPAs. Seeking new and greater challenges, John joined PAA in 2013.
In addition to policy expertise in occupational regulation and licensing, taxation, and financial issues, John excels at association management, including such functions as PAC marketing, fundraising, and strategic budgeting; grassroots planning and implementation; and member/stakeholder communication.
A native of mid-Michigan, John and his wife Ann Marie are both avid Spartans and live in Holt with their daughter, Abby. When not engaged with clients, John spends as much time as possible on his boat or with his family and friends enjoying Michigan’s beautiful outdoor campgrounds and wilderness and exploring her magnificent inland lakes and beaches.
John graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management at the University of Wisconsin.
