The COVID-19 pandemic and the opioid and mental health crises are intersecting to present unprecedented challenges for communities across Alaska. We have assembled a panel of key individuals to discuss these challenges in our community and look at how chiropractic is uniquely positioned to affect change in today’s healthcare climate. We will look at state numbers commonly not available to the public, opioid addiction risk factors, the role of mental health and societal influences on addiction. Hear firsthand from community leaders how these challenges are affecting the infrastructure of our healthcare system and discuss what we as a profession can do to work within our legislative, hospital and state systems to help guide them to look to drug-free pain management awareness and the potentially life-changing benefits of chiropractic care. |
